Xbox 360 Pricing for Hong Kong and Taiwan
For those keeping track, Microsoft announced our pricing for Hong Kong and Taiwan. The console is planned to go on sale on March 2.
The Xbox 360 will be made available in Hong Kong and Taiwan in both versions, costing from US$380 for the Xbox 360 and from US$300 for the Xbox 360 Core System. Prior to the launch, users are able to preorder them.
Asia has a community site up and running, called (strangely enough) Jump In, at www.jump-in.com.sg.
So that makes it:
- Feb 2: Mexico, Colombia
- Feb 24: Korea
- Mar 2: Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, NZ

There's no "u" in Colombia. Check the article, it is spelled correctly there.

Can you comment on the thought behind the expansion to other
markets before demand is fully met in the home (and other primary)
market?

hmm...wonder whether you provide warranty in Malaysia. do you? i know nintendo doesn't. sony does.
and that is definitely a hefty price tag if it does not have warranty. not sure why some shops don't provide it. the price tag is easily 50% of a salary bracket for most people. some shops provide their own "shop" warranty but that's a dicey thing altogether - usually meaning they mod it.
