Backward Compatibility Update 1.2
As you all know by now, we recently released an update to the backwards compatibility emulator for the Xbox 360. After the release, we saw some questions online that we wanted to answer, so David Reid, Larry Hryb (Major Nelson), and folks from the product and support team met to get some answers to the most common questions. They'll be posting these comments on Xbox.com soon, but I wanted to get them to you as soon as I could.
If you’re interested in more detail, Larry did a great interview with David Reid in his latest blogcast—be sure to check it out.
I have the Q&A on the Xbox team blog beta... (I'll add the Xbox.com URL when it's published).

Thanks for the heads up John, but...
I don't know what you guys mean, I've been playing XBOX 1 games without a problem at all up so far... oh wait, there's a catch, I still don't have a 360! And at this pace on both backwards compatibility support and availability of 360's, I guess Halo 2 and the ol'box will keep me in good company. For now though my PC and I will still be the best friends when playing Battlefield 2...

I did the backward compatibility upgrade for Forza and in the heavy graphics areas like the NY
tracks. The game appears to go into slow motion mode. Has anyone else seen this on their 360?

So, in my search to get some more information about XBOX 360 availability, I discovered something. Let’s start with… I pre-ordered my game console just like thousands of others did. I dropped all $400 down on it more than two months ago. I was told I would receive mine in the first shipment until Microsoft cut the supply in half. Since then I have been in limbo. Microsoft claims to be shipping consoles out weekly. The EB Games that I pre-ordered mine at hasn’t received one shipment since the initial launch. They’re due for their second shipment sometime this week. They’re getting two consoles in that shipment. I’ll say that again. They’re getting TWO consoles. That’s it. Two. No more. Now, in my search to find more information about the XBOX 360’s, I began calling around to various electronics stores. I happened to talk to someone at Best Buy in Concord, NH who said that he could divulge how many consoles their store would be receiving, but he could tell me they’d be available Dec 18th. He also said to check out the following website: http://xbox.clambert.org/03440. So, I go to this website and was excited to see that it’s an inventory tracking program. Fantastic. I type in my zip code and it pulls up a number of stores that will be receiving XBOX 360’s for Dec 18th. As it turns out, they’re all Best Buys. Within a 50 mile radius of the zip code I entered, Best Buy will have an inventory of 850 XBOX 360 consoles available on Dec 18th. That’s 850 consoles going on sale in 4 days. The EB Games where I pre-ordered my console is only getting 2 consoles this week. There are nineteen EB Games stores within 50 miles of the zip code I entered earlier and 25 Best Buys. Now Microsoft must know that Best Buy does not accept pre-orders and that EB Games does. Microsoft must know that there are a LOT of people who have, like me, already paid between $50 and $400 for an XBOX 360 and we’re just waiting for Microsoft to ship the consoles. Why is it then that Microsoft is filling inventory at Best Buy where NOBODY has put money down on a console and not at the locations where pre-orders remain unsatisfied? This is a bunch of crap. Those of us who have been loyal to Microsoft, those of us who planned ahead and put money down on the console in advance… those of us who have been waiting in limbo for three weeks now… we’re the people who Microsoft should be more interested in supplying consoles to. Instead you insult us by shipping enough consoles so that my pre-order moves from 28th place to 26th and instead supply 850 consoles to local Best Buys where no pre-orders exist. Good job.

And now with the Forwards Compatibility Updates...
I think I will pop King Kong into my friends Xbox 360. Oh wait, flashlight anyone? I seee nottthinggg (a little Sergent Shultz lingo there). Hahah, and Yves Guillemot now saying don't buy the 360 version. Amazing really. Boy, do I ever so look forward to the David Bankish 'kiss and tell' book of the Xbox 360 era. ;)

Frankly, Christopher Coulter I’m tired of your trolling here until you admit what you did. Apologize!
Christopher Coulter was caught sending fake emails to The Register to hatchet job Microsoft & Robert Scoble http://thomashawk.com/2005/12/andrew-orlowski-on-moral.html

John Anderson - I feel your pain, man. Reserved my system in July 2005, but have many friends that have pre-orders going back to MAY 2005. And get this: NONE OF US HAS GOTTEN OUR 360's YET!!
So I've come to the conclusion that MS simply does not care about hardcore gamers in this generation of consoles. They've blown off the gamers that supported their original system and were gung-ho about the 360 in favor of the MTV crowd and casual gamers.
Game Stop just told me that I won't get my reserve unit until NEXT YEAR!!!
This is the epitome of lame.

Chris is a major tool. Nothing more, nothing less.
@John Anderson, I believe that tool only searches for Best Buy. That's why you won't see any other stores. I happened to be in my local GS store last night when they got an email saying that they'd have some consoles next week. I actually read it with my own eyes. Unfortunately, no numbers were mentioned.

Eric, you're right. It does only search for Best Buy inventory however since my pre-order is with EB Games, I stay in contact with them about every 4 or 5 days. I have also called surrounding area stores on several occasions to see if anyone else knows anything. So far, three weeks after launch, they're getting something like 2 or 3 consoles with no forcast of future shipments. Every store has something like 30 people on the LAUNCH day pre-order list.

Justin stop your drive-by bloggeristic libel, pasting all over the net, unless you want to be wrapped up into that mess too; easy enough to rope you in.
Tool? I am just someone with a July pre-order that's well, frustrated. Small army of us out there.

So, getting back on the Xbox360 topic.
Bestbuy is having a bunch this weekend. If you pay attentions to some sites there are numerous consoles at each location.
About Forza...they are aware of problems and are taking actions. A member of the Xbox team responded in the forums:
http://forums.xbox.com/ShowPost.aspx?PageIndex=3&PostID=1031146#1149001
And yes, the Xbox team DOES pay attention.

The anecdote of the Scottish wrap produce begins in the self-sufficient Perthshire department of Scotland in 1961. William Ross, a convoy, happened to warning an exceptional sterile stainless cat with unashamed-folded ears on a neighbor’s farm. He and his woman, Mary, were intrigued and were told that the spoil had regular ears and the sire was unknown. They were promised a kitten from this cat, named Susie, if she yet produced another with folded ears. Th
