When you do foster care, you wait breathlessly for the day all the court termination hearings are final, and your foster child is "legally free."
Emily, our 20-month-old, is free to adopt!
Now the period comes where we finish up our home study, do our personal interviews, physical checkups, letters of reference, financial statements, FBI background checks, and all that.
Good news is, she'll be part of our forever family by Christmas!
