Simplicity Survival

As part of the Seattle Fast Company Company of Friends, I'm working with Lori Richardson to host a free workshop to kickoff the launch of Bill Jensen's new book, Simplicity Survival: 32 Ways to Do Less and Accomplish More.

If you live in the Seattle area, join us Tuesday, November 18, 6:30-9:00 PM, Microsoft Campus, Building 31, Whistler Room.

Join author Bill Jensen (Work 2.0 and Simplicity) at this free, interactive session, hosted by the Seattle chapter of Fast Company Magazine’s Company of Friends.

Bill Jensen has been hawking simplicity for 10 years -- in books, on his web site (www.simplerwork.com), and through a thriving consulting practice. His newest book, The Simplicity Survival Handbook, delivers what it promises -- a practical guide for people trying to find a realistic balance in their lives. Here, Jensen talks about tools and strategies for doing less.

Bill wrote Business 2.0 and then Simplicity in 2001. His newest book, due on November 4th is Simplicity Survival Handbook: 32 Ways to Do Less and Accomplish More. It is Fast Company Magazine's November Book of the Month selection. This will be a meeting not to miss!

Discussion Questions

Doing less may require courage - a willingness to ask why and question the assumptions that drive our workload. Which of Jensen's suggestions would require the most courage in your own organization? Why?
If we truly did less of the silly stuff we have to do every day, what would happen to our effectiveness on the job? Our workload? Our work-life balance?
How can we constructively relate to coworkers who don't buy into our commitment to do less, who simply see it as shirking responsibility?

How about a write up on the event for those who couldn't make it?
